ました
Polite form: past tense affirmative
About
The ます, or polite form, is a verb conjugation that combines a verb's stem form with the auxiliary verb ます. ます form verbs indicate polite speech, especially when used at the end of a sentence.
The past tense conjugation of ます is ました.
Just as with the present tense, the past tense polite form attaches directly to a verb's stem form:
Dictionary form | ます form (Polite form) | Past polite form |
---|---|---|
食べる | 食べます | 食べました |
飲む | 飲みます | 飲みました |
する | します | しました |
くる | きます | きました |
