This piece of grammar is particularly useful when you want to talk about how you feel, personally, or when you want to get specific about from what "angle" you're approaching something. You'll see what I mean.

Example:
→ 先生としての意見を聞かせてください。
”Please let me hear your opinion as a teacher.”
So, today we'll be looking at 「~として」, which is very similar to the English "as" in sentences like "As a student, I can officially declare that our cafeteria's pizza is priced too high!".
