一方だ・一方で: Two 一方s, no Hippos
This lesson is all about the word 「一方」 ("one way/direction/side"), and absolutely is not about the word "hippo". People keep asking me, "Is this lesson about 'hippo'?" and I have to keep saying NO. It has absolutely nothing to do with hippos!
More specifically, we'll be looking at two different ～一方 patterns: 「～一方だ」 and 「～一方で」.
