けど is a conjunction that means "but", and usually comes in the middle of a sentence. When けど follows a noun or な-adjective, the noun/な-adjective must have だ attached.
(Clause 1)(だ)けど、(Clause 2)。
Often, sentences will end with けど, leaving the second half of the sentence implied.
