〜からと言って(からといって)
Simply because/just because/even though ~
About
The ~からといって pattern is a combination of から ("because"), the と particle, and the て form of the verb いう.
~からといって is used to express "just/simply because X". This is then followed by a statement that indicates that even with a given reason, or if a certain reality is true, "it doesn't mean that...".
The second half of a ~からといって statement usually features a partial negation marker, such as わけではない・とは限らない・etc.
~からといって can be contracted to form 「~からって」, which is more casual in tone.
E.g. 説明を聞いたからといって、すぐにできるというものではありません。 "Just because you heard an explanation doesn't mean that you are going to be able to do it right away."
E.g. いくら安かったからって、ピザ10枚は頼み過ぎじゃない? "No matter how cheap they were, isn't 10 pizzas too much?"
E.g. 自分が好きだからといって、他の人にも押し付けるのは良くない。 "It's not good to force it on others just because you like it."
~からといって statements are subjective in tone, and feature the speaker's opinion. Because of this, the second half of a ~からといって statement most commonly features pieces of advice or warnings.
~からといって is most commonly used in spoken casual or spoken polite scenarios.
