〜抜く（ぬく）

The 「(verb stem)抜ぬく」 pattern employs the verb 抜ぬく ("to do to the end; to do thoroughly") to express that someone "does their best to do X until the end", or that they "do X thoroughly".

～抜ぬく is often used when someone overcomes hardships or completes a difficult action. It can also be used to emphasize the extent to which someone does a given action, similarly to adverbs like 「とても」, 「しっかり」, and 「すっかり」. This will ultimately come down to the surrounding context and which verb 抜ぬく is paired with.

E.g. ペンギンの赤あかちゃんは、親おやペンギンの足あしの上うえで寒さむい冬ふゆを耐たえ抜ぬくのです。 "Baby penguins endure the winter on their parent's feet."

E.g. チームマルモリは、相手あいての激はげしい攻せめに耐たえ、最後さいごまで1点差いってんさを守まもり抜ぬいた。 "Team MaruMori endured their opponent's severe attacks, and held the one-point difference until the end."

E.g. 君きみにこのミッションを最後さいごまでやり抜ぬく覚悟かくごはあるか。 "Are you prepared to see this mission through to the end?"

～抜ぬく may be used in casual and polite spoken settings, as well as in written speech.
