About
来る ("to come") is one of the few irregular verbs in Japanese, and conjugates differently than any other godan verb.
Casual | Casual Past (た) | Negative Casual (ない) | Polite (ます) |
---|---|---|---|
くる | きた | こない | きます |
Rather than くった, くる's casual past form is きた, rather than くらない, くる's negative casual form is こない, and rather than くります, くる's polite form is きます.
来る also has exceptional conjugations for more advanced grammar such as potential form and て form.
