よね
Sentence ender
About
よね is one of the most common sentence-enders in Japanese. It is considered "spoken" language and functions similarly to the ね particle's "seeking confirmation/consensus" usage. With questions made using よね, the speaker is usually less sure of what they're asking.
In contrast to this, statements made using よね demonstrate a stronger sense of consensus between the speaker and listener: when someone makes a よね statement, they assume that the listener is in agreeance, or can relate to what they're talking about.
Because よね softens a statement even more than the よ and ね particles on their own, excessive use of it, especially following な-adjectives and nouns, can be seen as feminine.
