The ます, or polite form, is a verb conjugation that combines a verb's stem form with the auxiliary verb ます. ます form verbs indicate polite speech, especially when used at the end of a sentence.
The negative conjugation of ます is ません.
Just as with the present tense, ません attaches directly to a verb stem:
