About
The negative past tense of an い-adjective may be formed by replacing the final い with くなかった. This can also be seen as the い-adjective continuative form (～く) with the past tense of ない (なかった) attached.

There are two ways to make the polite past tense of an い-adjective. You may either replace なかった with ありませんでした (the polite form of ある + でした) or simply add です to the end.
おいしい → おいしくありませんでした ⭕
おいしい → おいしくなかったです ⭕
くなかった indicates the negative past tense of an い-adjective.
くなかった may be made polite by adding です or by substituting なかった for ありませんでした.
