Volitional form
About
The volitional form of verbs is used to express one's desire/volition to do something. To create the volitional form of an ichidan verb, simply add よう to its stem form.
E.g. 食べる → 食べ → 食べよう
To create the volitional form of a godan verb, turn the last kana into its corresponding /o/ sound equivalent, and add う.
E.g. 飲む → 飲も → 飲もう
Volitional form verbs can be used to express our desire/volition, as a casual way to ask people to do things with us, or as a self pep-talk.
