~ことになる can be used to express a decision that has been made by someone or something else. To form this pattern, simply attach なる to a nominalized (with こと) verb or adjective using the に particle.
E.g. 行く + こと + に + なる > 行くことになる "the going is decided"
Decisions indicated by ~ことになる indicate that there is a separate, third party that made the decision.
